Hello, and welcome! I’m Jordan Parker, and I’m glad you’re here. If there’s one thing I hope you’ll get from reading The Student Experience Blog, it’s a sense of shared discovery—my journey in education, as I suspect yours is too, has been one of constant learning, challenges, and unexpected joys. In my experience as an educator, I’ve found that each classroom tells a unique story, shaped not only by the curriculum and policies that guide us but also by the sparks of curiosity, resilience, and wonder that students bring each day.

My path to teaching wasn’t direct, but once I stepped into a classroom, I knew I’d found my place. Early on, I was that teacher who wanted to make a difference but quickly realized the complexities in every lesson plan, every interaction, and every administrative decision. It was in these moments—figuring out the balance between structure and flexibility, innovation and practicality—that I found my true passion: building spaces where students and teachers feel heard, respected, and inspired.

One of the first times I saw the impact of thoughtful student support was in my second year of teaching. I had a student, Elijah, who struggled not only academically but also with confidence and connection. As I worked with him one-on-one, I realized that engagement isn’t about flashy technology or rigid routines—it’s about making each student feel that they matter. When Elijah began taking more risks in class, I saw firsthand the power of intentional support, and it became a cornerstone of my approach.

Here on the blog, you’ll find pieces that explore everything from technology integration to professional development strategies, often through the lens of real-world experience. I believe that education and sustainability go hand-in-hand; it’s not enough to equip students with knowledge—they need adaptable skills and the right tools to navigate and shape their futures responsibly. To me, sustainability isn’t just environmental—though that’s certainly crucial—but also about creating lasting, meaningful change within our schools and communities.

I’ve always loved weaving research with relatable, grounded stories because it makes complex issues more accessible. In fact, when I started implementing eco-friendly projects into my curriculum, I was floored by how invested my students became. One memorable moment was when a group proposed a “Green Classroom” initiative, complete with ideas for recycling stations and reusable resources. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and it reminded me why this work is so important: when students feel ownership, learning becomes transformative.

Whether I’m writing about curriculum design, classroom management, or the evolving role of technology, I aim to offer practical insights with a dose of inspiration. The Student Experience Blog is a space to spark conversations, learn from each other, and maybe even shift the way we think about education.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me—I can’t wait to explore these topics together!
